For Authors

Thank you so much for contributing to the Journal for Preachers! We are excited to read and share your submission.  

Please observe these guidelines in preparing your manuscript for publication:  

Include with your submission: 

  • Title of essay or sermon 
  • Your name and title as you wish it to appear 
  • Position / where you currently serve 
  • A 50-word or less bio 

Length and style of your submission

  • Essays and sermons should be approximately 2,500-3,500 words 
  • Text should be in a Word document, using 12-point font, double spaced. 
  • Use headings and sub-headings for sections as needed. 
  • For references, use the Chicago Manual of Style (CMS). 
  • Place all notes at the end of your piece (rather than using footnotes). 
  • Limit editorial remarks in notes. 
  • Scriptural references should follow the NRSVUE translation unless otherwise noted by the author.
