Founded by Walter Brueggemann and Erskine Clarke in 1977, The Journal for Preachers has served as an invaluable resource for preachers across a wide range of theological traditions. By curating articles and sermon materials from the world’s top clergy and scholars, our content is designed to help preachers deliver fresh, theologically-rich sermons that reflect meticulous biblical study and thoughtful social analysis.
Organized around the church’s liturgical calendar, our journal offers a rich tapestry of resources on the art and practice of preaching. Featuring exemplary sermons and insightful articles on biblical themes for Advent, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost, each edition is crafted to be a thoughtful and timely companion for preachers looking for something more than the latest sermon aid. Our goal is to help preachers find their authentic voice, deliver profound and challenging sermons, and re-discover joy and creativity in their ministries.
